Great tip for ‘later lists’

Do you maintain one or more idea lists, task lists, and to-do lists? Want to know how to save lots of time in this area? Read on.

For several years I’ve kept idea lists for both my websites and my customers’ websites. As we came up for ideas for a new feature or something to be added later, I developed the habit of writing it down so I did not lose the idea. Over time this has amounted to several notebooks of information, mostly ideas and plans for new website features.

My tip for ‘later lists’

Based upon the past four years and my experience in keeping lists of future ideas, my advice is to stop writing out ‘later lists’. It’s a waste of time.

Alternative to ‘later lists’

With all the time you save writing out ideas and plans that are not needed today, work on the most important task that can improve your business right now. It REALLY IS that simple.

But what if I forget?

Of course, it’s natural to be concerned that you’ll forget your great idea that you were saving for when you have extra money and free time to expand your business. The problem with this fear is that once you get to where you have free time extra money, you’ll most likely no longer care about your later list.

Faster Progress

By ditching your later lists and focusing solely upon the largest problems and greatest opportunities in your business, you’ll be more productive and grow faster! At some point along the way, you may find that something you would have put on your ‘later list’ is now the greatest problem or opportunity… ONLY THEN is it the appropriate time to move to this topic and work on a solution. Trust me, this works.
