My Life: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

A summary of my life as of May 21st, 2007.

Everyone has good, bad, and ugly in their life. I’m no different. However, different from many, I’m quite motivated in changing my state of affairs. As it began with the weblog at NetProfitServices.com, I’ve found that publicly listing my goals helps me in holding myself accountable to make them a reality. As such, allow me to launch my blog with a full self reflection.

The Good

  • Age: 29 years, 0 days. I guess I’m still relatively young.
  • Faith: born again christian
  • Martial Status: Happily Married
  • State of Mind: Motivated, Positive, and looking forward to each new day
  • Home: I reside in Gardner, KS in a home we built in 2003
  • Building Wealth: I hold back 60% of my income for taxes and savings
  • Children: 1 awesome child in our home (foster care); *Twin Girls* on the way!
  • Cycling: 1800 miles in 2006. Loss of > 20 lbs
  • Toys: I love my Subaru Impreza WRX STI and Sea-Doo RXT

The Bad

  • Age: My twenties will be over forever in 365 days!
  • Income: not yet averaging $10k per month
  • Culture: I have left the USA only once, for my honeymoon to Jamaica. Thanks again Jeff for the great wedding gift!
  • Religion: I attend church (which I seriously enjoy) less than 50% of the time
  • Debt: Over $20K in less than ideal debt. 2 car payments.
  • Cycling: 1 century ever. Made several deals with God in order to survive

The Ugly

  • Weight: 176 lbs
  • Body Fat: 27% - making me technically obese
  • Last Workout (weight training): March 2007
  • Failures: addicted to diet soda; I allow others to waste my time
  • Religion: I’m a poor witness for Christ as I hold my beliefs to myself
  • Personal computers: Windows based pc and laptop. I want to switch to MAC

Continued Growth and Personal Development

More important than my current state is where I’m going. I’m quite excited at the challenge of removing all of “the ugly” in 2007. Also I’ll be working on much of “the bad” this year as well. It’s amazing what you can accomplish when you make it a priority in your life!

Incomplete list

I’m well aware that the lists above are incomplete. If you know something about me that is good, bad or ugly, feel free to add a comment below. If you have personal improvement goals on your blog, toss me the link in a comment and I’ll list your site.

    Happy Birthday!

Nice site, Kevin. I must admit that following your progress has at least started me thinking of getting out of the office and on my bicycle too. If you don’t mind, give me a polite nudge every now and then. Who knows, maybe I’ll join you on a ride someday. Of course, I’ll have to work up to it. :)

Congrats on the site and happy birthday. Maybe we will see you when we are in KC in June.

Hi Kevin, congrats on the site, the twins, and the home you built in 2004. Congrats on being born again, building your business, and being focused. Your story is inspiring! Best of luck with everything, and, hey, your 30’s aren’t so bad. I just hit 40, and I now have a different attitude about men, time wasting, negativity and focus - all for the better!
