Question 5
- Does our constitution speak specifically against and unapportioned tax system?
- A: Yes
- More Info: Clause 1 from Article 1, Section 8 of The Constitution it states that “The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defence and general welfare of the United States; but all duties, imposts and excises shall be uniform throughout the United States”. We then fixed this “problem” in our constitution via our 16th Ammendment.
